The digital work of art - a window into a day in the life of a mature banyan tree in Ranakpur, India, was captured by Anotherview continuously filming for 24 hours in very high resolution during a 2018 tour through Uttar Pradesh in the month of August, the middle of the monsoon season. The banyan tree, the national tree of India, is known for its wide canopies and aerial roots, and, because banyan trees typically live for two to three hundred years, they symbolise immortality.
The entrance to the contemplative space is marked with a sinuous screen, columns and stools, all made from waste eggshell that has been crushed, dyed with natural materials, and moulded into Nature Squared’s signature CArrele tiles. Each square metre of eggshell tiles uses about 3,000 eggshells.
