The console’s irregular shape comes together as sheets of steel formed with precision under immense pressure. They’re then welded together, and the the welds on the ellipse are left on display to tell the story of this piece’s creation. The interior of the ellipse is patinated to produce an elemental quality and add contrast against the polished exterior. Finally, the top ifinished with inlaid patinated metal – or stone to add further intrigue.
Tom Faulkner is a designer / maker of exquisite furniture and accessories.
